Is this normal?
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!
It is by far the most annoying problem with this car. It almost drove me to the point of trading it in. I've brought it in to my dealership, they greased it, and it was ok for a day or so.
The one thing I've tried that fixed the problem was putting a thin rubber peice in between the covertible latch and where it hooks on to. It seems with more tension the clicking stops. Since then the rubber peice has worn out. It is definetly the latch, gauranteed! I will be bringing in my car for servicing the next few days and let them know. Hopefully they'll tighten the top for me somehow or replace the latch as mine is worn out a bit.
I also notice this problem a lot more on colder days. Another trick to make the clicking less frequent is to unhook the latch and rehook it back on, if your lucky the clicking will stop for a while, if not try again.
I've posted this problem on this board over 3 times, and have read practically every thread regarding this problem, still no long term feasible solution yet.
Let's keep this thread going by keep each other updated as this problem seems to be quite common!

. I have had this happen in my other car, and helped friends solve this problem as well.
Oh yeah, well I get 30% more wind noise when my top is up at highway speedz after 2 yrs of ownership. When ya push down hard on the center handle the wind noise lessens (Pleas try this everyone)...... Relax, its just a car! =) As said before: Crank up the tunes and VTEC! >>>> no more annoying noises.
I think I have the exact same problem. Checking the spare and the seat sounds good... However, since I have an exhaust, and now a brand new HU and speakers that I play LOUD, and I'm often in VTEC, kinda just disappears. =) I'll probably need hearing aids when I'm old!!
My car has stalled once, when it was very cold. I found that keeping my clutch in seems to help the engine when its cold. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I'm gonna do it all winter long!

i have the same exactly problem. the clicking sounds from the top roof frame. other metal clicking sounds MIGHT came from the inside passenger door, or the door between the car frame, or MIGHT be inside those metals right behind the seatbelt. i am really TIRED to find those sounds, if anybody have been solve from those problems, please post here ..
WANTTOGOBACK,
Like I said, give my suggestion on using the rubber peice a try. Basically, you just put a thin peice of rubber between the hook and the latch where your convertible top hooks to. It worked for me, but what boggles me is why its only happening on the passenger side on all the S2000s that have this problem.
BTW, I had always thought it was from inside the door as well.
