People mention that the car is scary in the rain but if I get an 06 with VSA and traction I should be good.
Don't count on the VSA! Well, if you drive properly based on the weather/road conditions, the S2000 is just another car on 4 wheels ...

This is my follow up to my post yesterday about needing help on purchase.

Took the s2k out today for extended drive. First time VTEC and first time with Honda. I have heard the other comparisons and thought that yes M3 and 350Z would be good alternatives.

I don't want to piss off the faithful but after 30 min with the car I don't see any comparison. The M3, while incredible, is not as "fun" and tossable and the 350Z is just not fun and fat. I wonder if my enthusiasm is real or just a newbie with VTEC and will wear off. The MR that I was set to buy is now a memory. This reving and reving is just addicting and the sound

So I am going to purchase the s2K.

06 are still on the lots along with 07s so I am going to offer invoice for an 06. If they won't take then I will by used. Would like the VSA though.

People mention that the car is scary in the rain but if I get an 06 with VSA and traction I should be good.
Thanks
Good choice...and welcome to the dark side

I paid 29,800 + fees last Dec when the 06's were still pretty new on the lots. Shoot for under invoice.

If you're careful it's fine in the rain. I don't mind a 5 mph oversteer on an empty road, either.

I bought a 2003 250Z and after 1 1/2 years sold it. I bought a 2006 Honda civic Hybrid & after 11 months I realized I wanted some zing in my life. I looked at a Honda and BMW motorcycle & chose 2005 S2K. I think the s2k handles, stops, & out accelerates the Z. It is like driving a 4 wheeled motorcycle. I love that car. I almost fall asleep when I drive my Civic. I am 58 & still am a kid at heart. I love My S2K. I just installed 4 Potenza pole position tires on her & what a difference. I went up one size on the width & it really looks good. Good decision to get a Honda. The only rear wheel drive Honda car, made in japan.

I don't know, I drive my brother's 350Z and although I prefer my car, I don't think its a pig that isn't fun to drive. As far as M3's go, I guess when a car is twice the size and weighs a few hundred pounds more it won't be as tossable, but its still a fun car to drive IMO.

M3's are nice, but I prefer the S as well. Welcome to the club.

I love my S, but there are days I miss my Evo.
