not what it was...
wow, i've been here almost two years. within these 2 years i've learned so much from the more educated of this association (turbo and dave + more...) honestly this forum, isn't what it has used to be. i used to love coming here learning so much, but now... now its just... i don't know. not what it should be. don't get me wrong ill be coming back learning from the good threads as i can, but its just not what it was when i first got here. when i first got here every thread was filled with the enriched information that i wanted to see, but now i can say that some just make me grow slower and stupid, than make me grow in knowledge.
i donno what this thread is supposed to mean, im not sure, but s2ki just isnt what it was before.

You mean stuff like this?
As the car gets older and easier to afford, younger and younger people will be getting into this car. All or most of the topics and concerns of this car have been addressed. All the good info gets buried and what might have been a godd thread turns into a joke real quick. I have only been here a little while but have seen the same thing happen on motorcycle forums.
And I'm not getting any younger either.

I think its just that you've learned it all. I'm new and find a wealth of information still. I find this true for my other cars, at first I'm on the forum everyday, but as I learned more about my car, I found that the questions/topics repeated themselves and I tended to come less often. At that point, you only stay when you've made "friends" on the forum.
Yea, there comes a point when you don't have any more questions. I came here searching for info and found it... a lot of it. But I can almost guess what the responses are going to be now when I read threads. I just come here to throw in my two cents every once in a while and continue to spark a little controversary over my preferences. The site is still great... for those who are newbies. For others... it's just a place to come home to while not doing anything at work.
Speaking of which... I just turned two and didn't even realize it! Happy birthday to me!

(I'm not anyways) i still find this is an extremely valuable resource, I've been around for about a year and a half, and I still spend exorbitant amounts of time here...I don't know where I would have learned half the stuff I already have, surely not from the dealer...
I just think there's not that much to talk about anymore...

i have been here for more than a year... first 4 or 5 months, everyday i would be learning so much about the car. Now its not so much learning about the car.. its finding out things that can/have gone wrong with the car at other peoples expense and just offering help to those i can by putting in my .02

i still come here everyday and enjoy this site very much, its my favorite site and i spend most of my internet searching time on it
try looking at the site from a new approach, try answering questions that other people have, put your learned knowledge into use about the car, help others learn more
some people may have wrecked it, got a huge ticket/fine for speeding, buy another car/different project car, etc., and move on. S2000 is/was a great car. Best I've had. But you're right, it's not what it used to be. v4 is just too hard to handle, too slow, too NOT v3.
I've been here for almost 2 years now. sure my log in name got changed thanks to v4, and I no longer have my S due to that little incident, but I do hangout, whenever.

I'm a newbie here and have already found some great info from more experienced owners. I gotta say that many of the repetitive questions could be avoided with a better search engine. This one is clunky, and half the time just tells me the database is corrupt. But I have always ultimately found what I needed.
Fortunately, many of the vet's do seem to stick around and throw us a bone with our new car concerns and hopefully they will continue to do so.
Having been on numerous forums, it seems that once the new release arrives and everyone tears it apart, not much to talk about. The motorcycle boards I linger on are dead right now, but new bikes are out end of the month. Things will pick up again as we all debate who and what is the best. And of course, it all comes down to the rider. Nothing new there.
There is much more activity on the Miata.net board, but honestly, it's because that car has a lot more issues and owners. But the questions are still all rehash's from the year before.
Hopefully this one will stick around, and who knows, maybe Honda will surprise us all and release something altogether new and interesting?
In the meantime, can anyone tell me the right way to break my car in
Just kidding.......

Like you mentioned, most of the current topics, concerns, and questions have been addressed already.
At the same time, the search function doesn't work like it used to. For example, I looked up "Blitz exhaust" the other day. After browsing through several pages of search results, I gave up. I found barely any relevant info. If you've used the search function lately, you know what I mean.

I think that's true for the most part, but I wouldn't blame younger owners for s2ki's current state.

Sometimes it works like it should, sometimes it spits back some pretty random results, definately tedious at best
