Yeah it has gotten worse with Covid for sure! I would like the fact that people are driving faster ... if they did not drive like morons lol. Most of the time I am going anywhere on 494/94 this summer traffic is moving about 85 mph if not rush hour. But the same dumb stuff goes on. I find drivers here tend to be extremely distracted.

What’s the hurry? Now you will be forever late to where you are going.

I want to get a bumper sticker that says Please practice Social Distancing with my bumper.

I'd even be happy if they kept the full 6 feet.

Tailgating has become the new normal the past few years. Root cause, idiots trying to change lanes when there is no where to go, forced everyone else to close ranks in heavy but moving traffic. That led everyone to routinely feel comfortable at that distance.

Observing other cars around me, I constantly see people following at less than .5 seconds, sometimes .25, when there is room to pass and the driver has no intention to get past car in front and is not even focused on driving. It apparently just feels like the right distance now.

@Car Analogy That’s so sad to hear... These egotistical slow drivers should mind their own business. Passing Drivers are most likely not trying to race... maybe they have to get somewhere in a hurry, have to pee, has an emergency, etc.

Heck i even see it happen on multiple lane highways. Someone is going slow on the god damn left or middle lane then the car behind tries to pass and the slow car intentionally steps on it to prevent the other person passing. What the heck??? It’s not a god damn race!!!

Its become ingrained in our culture. No one has the right to call me out for what I'm doing wrong, but I have the right to call out everyone else even if they are actually in the right.

Therefore, only my speed is the currently correct velocity.

George Carlin nailed it.

I used to get road rage but as the years passed I realized how dumb it was. My #1 rule when driving on a public road now is to get to the destination safely. If someone cuts me off or is driving stupidly then I just take a deep breath, slow down, and avoid them. Nothing is worth my life so if I have to arrive a few minutes later to my destination then so be it. I have gotten very good at the art of practicing zen while I am driving. I literally let nothing upset me when I am behind the wheel.
