non-performance oriented rims, wacky body kits, obnoxious exhausts are the qualities of what makes RICE, rice.
You know, some of my friends think my exhaust is rather loud and obnoxious. One ricey Mugen exhaust, guilty as charged. Now pass the soy sauce, please.

Gee, maybe I see one in my garage every day. I don't really know. I've never put a label on it. Should I care if others do?

i *hope* thats what everyone else thinks - I did put a lot of effort into the overall scheme and not just throw bits on because of names etc.

I think a lot of S2000s look bad because people just throw parts at them without thinking - and only worrying about the brand, which IMHO is wrong.

sometimes people don't buy parts for performance gains, maybe they just like the way it looks, sounds, etc.
although there is some general census in which people find these mods distasteful aka rice, such as 20" spinners and so on

Peoples style or preference differ greatly as do the application of their cars.

I have found that just like many of us....we all started somewhere. If you rewind the time and look at previous cars owned that at one point or another you could probably point out the "rice"....

Some people have an idea of what they want something to look like but sometimes they don't have the creativity or the means to make the project look clean or finished.

Other people honestly like the way their car looks simply because they have had minimal exposure to the import scene.

Experience has a lot to do with the refined look that we all have come to appreciate.

I used to really hate "riced" out cars.....but I've come to realize that it's a lot more than just knowing what looks good....

I've since stopped hating on riced out cars..... the longer they stay in the scene....they'll learn.

JMHO.

Couldn't have said it better, we all start somewhere and our tastes just get refined.
