Don't see too much rice around here;S2K are more affordables, but good quality aftermarket parts are still quite expensives.

Did someone say my name?
Man I got my 03 s2k with freakin' iceman intake, ARC exhaust, ARC headers, ARC led windshield wipers, ARC led exhaust glow, and generic underbody neons. Hell I even eat rice in my car all the time. Sometimes I put some rice in the oil fill hole, I think it helps performance wise. My stickers alone complete the car.

I think it's just a matter of personal preference -- some say Mine's R34 GTR's ricey! Sometimes even OEM parts can look ricey too ...

But I guess you are right in the sense that S2ks have become cheaper. When the car is cheaper, people care less about them and you have more people slapping on random parts ... ?

Not much S2k here in NC and the ones I do see are stock. I like the stock look, but a little personalization is nice to see. The carbon fiber, volks, and ricks look nice on the s2k. It doesn't have to be about perfomance all the time.

Not much Ricey S2K's in the bay area.

Ricey looking cars are the perfect set up for a sleeper now IMO.

Lets say a civic with a 3 inch wing and lime green body kit meets you at the strip or something. You would probably think its slow, but next thing ya know its a 12 second car. I mean they're still ugly as hell though.

Don't judge a car by its appearance is what I'm trying to say

To me, the worst thing a car can have is unrepaired body damage.

I have an OEM wing, OEM lip, and Invidia exhaust. It doesn't look unfinished or flashy and showy, so IMHO it's not rice. Some people might consider it rice.

Maybe it'll tip the scale when I put on my JDM Soshinoya beginner badges?
