Keep in mind that, even if you believe you know the car's entire history, all imported cars spend a considerable amount of time being banged around on a boat. There is lots of repainting of factory panels at the port of entry. The dealer has no control over that, and I am not even sure that modest repaints at that point are even entered into an official data base. I have had numerous import vehicles prior to this S2000, and I have run into a few cases of noticeable repaint. One ['71 VW Squareback] was especially egregious, with fading of hood and one rear panel every few months, requiring constant usage of white compound to restore.
I am willing to bet that the bumper received a quick repaint, over part or all of its surface, to cover up a scratch picked up in transit.

so, what do you recommend? Should I get a new bumper all together or should I try and have this one repainted?

Oh ok, Just get that one repainted. Bumpers arent a big deal. Just find a good shop or dealer that can match spa.

Also.... from before me... It seemed like my brother had no idea how to park the damn thing... kept forgetting how long the front end was... so there are two cracks...each one right at the indent where the headlights are....

I was just thinking of replacing the whole bumper... how much would that cost.... anyone know?

Don't feed the wild animals!

Replacing and painting the rear bumper is ~ $450

Sounds like you only need the paint and I don't know the cost for the front but I would assume somewhere in that price range

You might want to think aftermarket to see if there is a different style that you prefer for ~ the same $$$
