Default The "nuts" inside our front bumper...pics inside!

The nuts that hold the screws on where the front plates get mounted are missing on the right side of my car (bottom picture, look closely inside the drilled holes). It's actually a bit bizarre and I worked my way around it by using a strong adhesive on the front bumper plugs, but after getting a "warning" I think it'd be best to put on my front plates for a month or two.

Does anyone know how I can mount my plates on by using alternative techniques? I'm aware of the Rick's front plate holder, but that is mounted on the drilled holes as well, which clearly becomes useless in my case. Or does anyone know how I can get the nuts to re-appear again? :wishfulthoughts:

Any help would be appreciated!

You'd have to take the bumper off and see if the backing plate (the thing with your so called "nuts") is still in there. You may also need to compare it to the side that's still there to see if the little plastic pins are still there to hold the backing plate on. If those are gone, then you'd have to epoxy the backing plate to the inside of the front bumper (assuming you can find it). If you can't find it, you'd have to buy another one.

You can always zip tie the plate to the front grill slats.

Sounds like the same problem I had and I had to remove the bumper. Guess what I found when I removed the bumper, yup it was laying inside. Front bumper is easy to remove about 15-20 mi. or so if you have done it before. Good luck

the "nut" that holds your license plate probably just fell off, if it is still in your bumper there you go, just pop in back into place, if now just order another one not a problem

perhaps instead of using some sort of bolt, get a pair of screws that goes in and will hold well.

I'm attempting to pull my front bumper out, but I can't locate one of the screws inside the fender!

I tried moving the wheel well, but to no avail. Any assistance?

HELP!

The bumper in that area is very thin. Without the backing plate ("nut" as it's being called here), no screw will hold well. The weight of the plate bracket and licence plate will very quickly yank out, leaving a bigger, jagged hole.

Maybe yours fell out? Crank the tire over and have a good look. It's there.
