OBD 2 connector...
Ok here's what you need to do:
1) make sure the serial port on your laptop/machine is enabled.
2) get the email that Alex sent you, there's a reg code on there.
3) plug one end into car, the other onto laptop
4) download software, the top one, the one that's .3 megs, extract into folder of choice, and run.
5) hit the connect button
6) you will not be able to connect as you will get an error, after error, click through a couple of screens you get the "ID" page. Enter in the id in the email. THIS IS IMPORTANT, eitherwise the software won't work.
7) connect again...
8) click away and look away.
There's a help file that talks a little about each screen.
What I find interesting about this tool is that I would plug it up and drive at various speeds to record the info. One thing that I am very interested in is the intake air temp... it would appear that unless you are going above 35mph, the IAT will not start to come down.

I got mine last week but just got a chance to try it.. without success. I get a 'busy signal' after initialization. Any idea what I have done wrong?
I am using a PC I am not familiar with.. is this a symptom of a bad port?

could be chris, make sure its enabled in the bios. depending on the manufacturer, some do not enable it by default. so check the bios settings.
mine works fine, it says busy, but then after four seconds, it connects - which appears to be 'normal'.
