I'm having trouble with this.

I ordered a setup with a serial db9 connector for com1.

I'm running a Thinkpad with Windows 2000 sp1, serial port enabled, and I use this serial port at work every day with no problems. I've got plenty of computer power: 850mhz speedstep p3, 256 mb ram, 32 gb hd.

I set up the program as instructed in this thread.

I do connect but the only thing is can see is the "load" needle go up and down as I open and close the throttle. Nothing else.

I wonder if the problem is my inexperience or a Windows 2000 problem or a defective cable. I wonder if I have to set certain com1 parameters. My current settings for com1 are: 9600bps, 8data bits, no parity, 1 stp[ bit, no flow control.

I'm off to andy's web page while I await a rescuer here.

Barry,

On the date screen have you tried highlighting the "all xxx" and hit send? This should send commend to go out and fetch some live data.

very cool! BTW, there should be a send for most screens. There's a freeze tab, same thing you can send. And on the error code, I think you hit the history button and it'll go and fetch if there is any.

Also, if you highlight each one of the field in the data field, it will give a bit more information on the bottom of that window.

It's almost more fun to have someone else drive the car while you play with the toy!

Shing, can you get Engine RPM readings all the way to 9,000 rpm?

I have a new 07 S2000. I looked for the ODB II connector under the passenger's dash and don't see it. I also didn't see it under the driver's dash.

Am I just missing it, or did they move in in later car models.

Any advice on finding it would be appreciated.
