I think he was kidding. If not, maybe we can pull off a class action. We've got to hurry though, before my purple fingernail (evidence) grows out.

I think he's kidding too, I doubt he really took the time to contact "Consumer Product Safety Division's Finger Protection Division.
I tried getting in touch with them once, and they are not easy people to reach. As it turns out they have absolutley no interest in the welfare of toes, oh well.
BTW I like the avatar, we have owls here, not like yours though I don't recognize him. We have horned owls, I am told normally they are the only animal that will hunt a skunk.

Thank you! It's a burrowing owl, a little guy that's the school mascot (Florida Atlantic U. -- women's BB team meets LSU in round 1 of the tournament, and you should pray for us). I need to do a better job on the eyes, but I never seem to have time to get around to it. HPH

Did you try to press the start button with your left big toe while closing the door?

he says we should sue for pain and suffering and to make Honda fix this before some poor, unsuspecting victim tries to take a leak with the door open and gets something worse than his fingers caught.
Thanks for the great laugh man...

And red mx5, I usually respect and look forward to reading your posts, but this time I think you need to reread the first post again..... Catch a hint of sarcasm?

Why, I'll have you know that, like Superman, I'm always right and I never lie! And since becoming an S2Ki member, I've become quite the expert on these cars (except for, uh, certain foibles with my fingers), as can be seen, for example, in my authoritative contribution to the important topic of pedal nubs (see my post in the old thread here. ) I fully expect this to become part of the forthcoming Encyclopedia of the S. HPH
In that case, sign me up for an autographed copy.

Dude, you REALLY got my goat!
Good one!

If you're serious, I'm sorry to say but you're one of the biggest pussies I have ever seen.
