Default Odd mechanical question

On my 2000 MY I inadvertantly was beating on the car after just turning it on and in 1st gear. 6000 RPMs and the fuel cut off. Once the car warmed up, it drove perfectly....

I had to test my theory that the car has some sort of dummy feature which says "hey don't beat on your car when it is cold." Again, cold car just started, beating on it in 1st gear and 6000 RPMs and it felt as though the fuel was cut off. The car has only done it those two times, and at the same rpm, same gear, same circumstance.

Is this something built into the car to keep me from destroying it? or do I have a mechanical issue that just happened to repeat itself under the same circumstances?

yes...read your owner's manual

you need 3 temp display bars to be fully warmed up.

your manual is probably in the secret compartment........

hah, owned the car a week before I found that. Filling up for the first time was fun too.. had to refer to the manual to find the fuel door switch.
