OEM Car Cover
I'm thinking of picking up the OEM car cover. I've seen varying descriptions that call it a dust cover as well as ones that say it will protect the S from the elements.
This will be primarily on the car while in the garage but since it comes with a bag I was thinking maybe I could take it places with me, but if it gets caught outside in the rain will it stay dry or become a soggy mess?
Those of you who have one, please weigh in.
Thanks

Usually when they say "protects from the elements" they mean a light breeze. Most car covers are water resistant but not waterproof. That means it will stay dry in a light rain but anything heavier will soak thru. I have an aftermarket cover, better quality than the OEM, but in a heavy rain it gets soaked. I suppose they could make a completely waterproof cover, but it won't breath like a good cover should.
Yes that's a great point. Last winter my garage/barn didn't have a door on the bay the S was in so I put a tarp over the back of the car over top of the cheap dust cover I currently have. Well after checking a few times I realized it needed to breath because heavy condensation formed on the finish and it drew the dirt that the dust cover had collected through the material and onto the finish.
