I love the sound of my car under boost with the top down. It has a terrific howl thats not too loud.

The pipe in question is tuned to remove the "droning" that occurs between 3-4K

Aftermarket systems that remove this pipe often have a resonance or boomy kind of drone at those rpms that the "L" pipe seems to effectively tune out.

I do notice when I slowly pull into somewhere I notice a SLIGHT deepness to the exhaust when the rpms go down. Only slightly though. I'm not a huge fan of the 350z whale, but I do love their stock exhaust tone. Really nice... to Nissan

, that is about the only thing i like about the 350z. it comes with a sweet sounding exhaust note straight from the factory. but some think it sounds like a dead horse, whatever...

I like the S2k exhaust note- after 5 years of living with an RS*R exhaust on my old Civic, the OEM piece is nice- sounds great with the top down but otherwise unobtrusive.

I can understand, however, how some people like to hear a little more exhaust noise (and probably some intake noise, too) at 9k rpms. One of my buddies had an ITR with I/H/E and it sounded awesome at 8400 rpm.

I love exhaust noise too. The ONLY thing that bothers me with exhausts is droning on the highway. I do lots of that and would prefer it to be fairly quiet and relaxing. Although quiet and relaxing isn't something high on the s2k's priority list, that's what i'd want when cruising. When accelerating and having fun I would like a little more noise The Mugen twinloop exhaust I had on my Prelude suited me well.
