Default OEM Sidestakes = WORTHLESS

Well, my sidestrake came off for the THRID time and my dealer is saying that it is not covered in the warrenty. This sounds like BS to me.....anyone have some worthwhile advice i.e not "screw Hinda service, they suck!" Thats a given. I need something I can use to get them to fix this POS

Talk to the Service Manager. If no joy, then go talk to the general sales manager, and get him on your side. The sales people are useally pretty easy to sway. Remind the sales dude that people ask you about your car ALL the time and you would like to be able to direct them to a helpful dealership...

I've got a 2002 with the sides on. I have 6,500 miles on it, no problems yet. How do they fall off, how many miles did you have? What does it look like when they come off as far as the paint/finish under them?

If they were installed at the dealership when you got the car, they should be warrantied. I'll bet they took a shortcut when they installed them. They are supposed to have a bracket that goes on first. Many installers are simply too lazy and just screw the damn things directly on the body.

Check the other side of the car.
Ensure that side skirt has the bracket that xviper mentioned. If it doesn't there's no doubt it should be covered by warranty.

wil..

Who would drill holes into a beautiful S2K to tack on the ugly plastic side strakes anyways? If you want them off now you have holes in the body.....YIKES.

Send a PM to hardtopguy. He is a Honda parts manager and he will tell you straight up what happened.
