P.S. This does tend to upset the wife, but for some odd reason, it doesn't stop me from doing it.
They would have implemented it better though. My '93 impreza has a switch like this as well but from the driver controls I can still operate the passenger window but the passenger cannot operate it. All they had to do was put the break in the wiring in a different location.
When I first got my S, I always assumed that it was a de-activation button for the passenger airbag. You don't want to have the passenger airbag go off if you have a small child in the car (in a carseat). My '99 and '01 Miatas both had these switches to de-activate the airbag, so I just assumed... would make more sense than a window lock though.
