Black 2005 with 44000 miles, two owners, second owner took over in 2006. Needs a new soft top, obviously parked outdoors. Soft top has one repaired rip and one that needs repair. Paint is a little rough, obvious marks from someone wiping it with sand in a cloth or something. Looks like it had a lip on it. Front bumper needs repaint. Has an aftermarket exhaust and CF cooling plate, stock otherwise. Feels mechanically sound, interior is 9/10, driver seat bolster is a little wonky but leather is perfect. Id like to put it back to stock. They asked me to make a list of what I thought should be fixed and what I thought it was worth with/without repairs. I was gonna offer 18k without new soft top, 20k with. They are asking 23.5k.

Are S2000's that hard to come by where you are? I just bought a 32k mile 2005 Silverstone w/ red/black interior for $20,500. Pristine, except for some scraping & chips on bottom of front bumper. But, that was in Ohio.

No its the opposite, there are plenty but they are all expensive. Not sure if its the market or if I just need to be patient or willing to ship a car. I'm in Southern California.

Your offers seem good to me, 23.5k is a lot for them to ask even if it were in mint condition.

Stinkydiver, looks like more than the front bumper has paint issues, i.e., front fenders and hood also. Their asking price of $23.5k is crazy high, so I wouldn't negotiate from that price. Assuming VIN stickers all match, maintenance records are available, tires are decent, no accident history, etc., $18k is a very fair offer. Also, not sure I would go $20k with a new top, maybe $19k. Use the paint, seat, mods and top to your advantage. Let us know how you make out. Good luck in your search!

I'm getting frustrated, every private party or dealership is convinced they should be getting $2-3,000 over what KBB and NADA say the car is worth. Should I just accept that S2000's will continue to increase in value, or are we seeing the peak and prices will drop into fall/winter? I don't mind waiting, but I'm trying to juggle the possibility of values exploding next spring/summer as there are less and less available with the seemingly inevitable overpayment this summer on my part.

Edit: Talked them down to $14,500. What do you guys think?
At $14,500 the price is not crazy high, if the car represents well. Essentially, depends on the overall condition of the car...VIN numbers match, maintenance history, interior condition, accident free, condition of top, how many owners, dealership warranty [if applicable]. color, mods/stock, etc.

2005 Silverstone with 23000 MI. Clean, small soft top tear near b pillar. When current owner bought it from eBay he noticed it had a replaced lower control arm. He had honda replaced the upper and lower control arms , knuckle and bearing to make sure it was done right . No reported accident so he's unsure why control arm was replaced. Asking 23k in socal.

Hey S2ki folks, I've been contemplating on buying this S for a while now. What do you think?

few details:
2008 GPW
10k miles
Completely stock, says he's original owner
Haven't had the chance to take a look at the engine yet but he says no mechanical problems as he doesn't drive this car often
interior from pics look 9/10

He's asking 25k

3. Hondata ecu
4. T1R grounding kit
5. Skunk2 shiftknob
6. BC coilover
7. AP2 tail lights

It's a clean title.
