The Official S2000 CR Owners Thread
New S2K CR owner here in Oregon. I got the Apex Blue ... picked it up around the end of December.
Weather has not been too cooperative for some good play time, but I've had a few chances here and there.
I've had some seat time in a lot of different sports cars on road, track, and autox... including a couple other S2Ks (2002, 2005).
This thing has really impressed me. It's almost as much fun as my Elise. The suspension is much better than other stock S2Ks I've driven. Fun to drive factor can only be surpassed by the Elise/Exige and MX5 in my humble opinion.
Very little body roll, a touch of understeer on slower speed quick turn ins that translates to nice rotation with a little throttle lift.
As with any car of this nature ... out of the box... there are a few improvements to be made. I hope to shave around 100 lbs off the weight with a lighter exhaust, battery, wheels, etc. As with any S2K, it could use some more torque, but rather than go FI right away, I think I'll keep my warranty intact and just try to shed weight.
The looks don't thrill me, but I didn't buy this car for looks. If I wanted a poser car, I would have purchased something else. Besides, knowing the way I intend to thrash this thing ... it's gonna have cone damage, rock chips, scratches, scrapes, and dings long before the next autox season is over.

i paid MSRP...with title, state fees, and other dealer offerings it amounted to about $43.8
$43.8k? I called around in California and I got multiple quotes for $38k OTD for CR with AC/radio + hardtop rack and cover. Congrats on a new CR though. Can't decide whether to go for a s2k/CR or save my money for something else.

....State College isn't too kind to vehicles.
