Official S2000 CR Owners Thread Part II
So lastnight my engine light decided to come on
I had it checked and its reading the Bank 1 Position 1 O2 sensor. Anyone else burn through theirs in less than 20K??
Also, i was reading through my warranty book and it said that some warranty items may be void if the car is track driven...did they forget this car was built for the track and is intended for track use??

Just don't let them know. They won't ask.
In my case, because I have so many miles, they (correctly) assume that I daily drive mine; I had my catalytic converter go out on me already.
UMS tuning in Arizona has noted that CR's generally tend to run really lean (without any knocking/pinging)...

That would be just about everything minus the tires.
Do the sways, shocks, springs and steering rack stiffener and get some star specs and that should be a massive leap better than stock.
Check out the suspension shoot out modified did. They tested various coilover equipped s2000s and a stock s2 and a stock cr.
The cr not only did better than most of the group, It also put quite a jump on the stock s2

It has a AP1 steering rack.
The standard AP2 has a steering ratio of 14.9:1 and the CR is 13.8:1
Not a HUGE difference, but certainly noticable if driven back to back.
I love the quicker steering...
I rented a BMW for a week for a road trip and the slow steering rack was killing me... not used to having to actually shuffle the steering wheel to make turns going through back roads...
I like being able to hold my 9/3 or 8/4 and never let go....

Cats these days are VERY sensative to lead. Many race gas formulations as well as Aviation gas contain Tetraethyl lead (TEL). It improves octane and valve lubrication but it will damage catalytic converters and O2 sensors very quickly.
It's also quite illegal to burn in a road going vehicle, but I don't think cops go around sniffing fuel filler necks.
