i was getting an oil change at the local Honda dealership-...
i see that you are looking for coilovers for your CR.....

what do you have that in your mind?

Question for everyone...

im thinking about picking up Hankook V12 Evo for my CR... i was gonna either buy Hankook RS3 or Dunlop star spec but since i daily drive my CR... i want something that last longer.....

does anyone have experience with Hankook K12 evos?
local shop quoted me $84 each for the front(225/45/17)and $89 for the rear(255/40/17)

cantsleep - your car is looking SICK my friend! If you are ever in norcal drop by our shop and we can just talk cars as we always have a few s2000's sitting around.

I drove my friend's Rio CR the other day and was amazed how much louder it seemed without the sound deadening. I took my 09 and added a few more layers of Dynamat so my car is the opposite - feels more like a BMW now

Finally added my authentic CR trunklid and spoiler so now the car is almost there.....hehe

Good tire for what it is, but it won't match the wet and dry grip of the current EHP tires. The V12 EVO is better than the HTRZ-III though, IMO.

I'm at about ~5 track day on my RS3 + ~4000 miles daily driving. Fronts have maybe 2 track days left in them.

Are you comparing the CR to the sound deadening in your own car? Because the CR does not have any sound insulation differences than a normal S2000, unless you consider the hardtop an insulator of course.

Mike,

You're really hitting up the tracks this year!

I have 4 trackdays and 15000 miles total on my Z1SS. I only got about at max, 1 trackday left. The rears are showing wear bars! I can tell I don't have much grip left because I busted a little slide while trying to make a left in front of a bunch of supercars at Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills...
That's surprising. I cannot wear out my starspecs. They have a bunch (10+) of autocrosses, and 6 or 7 track days on them and look brand new and still have good grip.

I need to be careful; my outer edges are totally worn and I've had a lot of offs, so I check my tires every session now =\

I need to get my camber joints but everyone is out of stock D:

Based on tire wear, I need to get rear camber joints too... -2.5 isn't enough and I max out around -2.8.

15k miles is spectacular for your use on the Z1SS. I think I'll try them next after this set is done; I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I honestly think that if I used the RS3 for street use only with the stock alignment, they'd be good for about 15k miles in the rear and 25k in the front. Based on your use, it seems the Z1SS would last longer

The car actually seems louder with the hardtop on; it makes noise resonate inside the passenger cabin, and the white (wind) noise tends to mute everything.

Also, with the passenger seat out, you can really hear the cat choking up the exhaust. I'm curious as to how it would sound with a test pipe.

Also, the CR exhaust is different (albeit, minimally)
