thanks for answering. I currently DD my CR (for fun purposes only) and im not sure what all i would like to change. Honestly i feel the front is pretty stiff and i like the feel the back rolls a little bit much for my taste and i get that little "slip" feeling if i dive really hard into a turn but if i was to change im not sure what i would want to truly adjust.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Currently the only adjustments I have made from stock is the alignment. Again, I've been happy with the setup, but I just feel like there is more that I can do to improve upon the existing system. The spring biased setup appears to be setup more towards safety rather than purely optimization, hence, the stiffer front spring than the rear. Upon acceleration, greater weight is transferred to the rear than say if the spring rates were stiffer in the rear (as on the 00-01 AP1). Anyways, if any of you have any speculation or any opinion/feedback/input. Please shoot them out there. I would love to hear what the CR community has to say.

Well currently I'm going to need 9 more people to be interested in purchasing the setup I'm thinking about cracking at in order to actually have the springs manufactured to my desired spec. With really no engineering involved and a lot of guestimations and speculation, I do not know how far this aspiration will go. Anybody willing to try 400lb/in springs all around with a half inch drop all around? Let me know. Thanks!

I'm at 4500 miles over 7 months. The shocks seem to be progressively breaking in a little. If they smooth out a little more over the next ~8000 miles, I'll be happy.

Still thinking of picking up a set of MOTONs for daily driving. The thing that holds me back are drilling holes to mount the remote cannisters. MOTON sells a self-contained unit for GT3s... I wish they had one for the S2000....

Hey, I'm in!! You might consider throwing out your spring idea on non-CR threads. I note quite a bit of discussion out there about non-CR owners converting to CR springs. Non CR owners might see validity in the concept of stiffening (beyond CR specs) with a slight drop as well. In this way you might have hope of finding 10 interested parties. Not sure the prospective cost but likely a better value over coilovers. Curious if you'd modify your dampers at the same time and if so what looks attractive for this spring?

Just received my Circuit Hero shift knob. Nice chunk of stainless. Should make for some nice clean throws.....

so..............what is behind the radio panel on the delete models? Anyone convert that location to storage?

Thanks for the heads up! I forgot about getting a S2ki membership. It's one of those things I keep putting off.

Thanks for your help guys. I understand that many are concerned about changing the suspension geometry or travel. I had a chat with a coworker who builds and races Spec Miatas as a hobby. His suggestion was to use a solid collar to lower the entire assembly to a certain height. This way, the height is non-adjustable for those who are running in the S2k Challenge. However, my goal was not to make such a custom/serious modification because I'm not exactly a hardcore racer and looking for that extra 0.2 second advantage. I stated I wanted about a half inch drop (10-12mm) and his response was, that's completely fine because it won't mess with the suspension geometry. He did have some concerns about having 400lb/in springs all around, but I did mention that most aftermarket systems come with the same front/rear spring rates. He said I should give it a try anyways to find how it changes the behavior of the vehicle.

From my basic understanding, changing the spring rates like so may induce a slight oversteer characteristic. However, I think the S2k was designed to have stiffer springs in the rear for some reason. Whatever it is, it's definitely going to change the way you drive your car. This setup was intended for those with the CR struts. The ones with the other OE struts are valved a little differently so these springs might actually be "overkill" for the base struts.

You can buy the spring! Part # 12 from below (Honda Part #77256-S2A-003). I bought mine from Majestic Honda. You can search by S2000 CR with Radio. And the category is Instrument Panel Garnish.

FYI - it's also the same clip/spring that's used in the cup holder - the one that keeps the "arm" down (by arm, I mean that little thing that separates the cupholder tray into 2 cup holders). When I pulled the radio door, I pulled the center console to make my life easier. Accidentally (serendipitously) knocked that spring out of place and realized it's the same spring as the radio door.

I also bought an aftermarket din-sized pocket (Scosche HA2156B 1998-Up Honda Civic/Accord Replacement Pocket) and a couple of brackets (# 5 and 6 below - Honda Part #'s 39111-S2A-000 and 39161-S2A-000) and screws to create a nice little storage pocket. I think a different size din pocket would be better - the one I got is pretty narrow. Perhaps the oem integra pockets. I cut and put one of those grippy dash things in the pocket too so stuff doesn't move around. The pocket is great for my wallet or phone etc.

Perfect !! Thanks for the detailed overview. Too bad Honda didn't do something similar on the delete models. It would have added grams at the most.
