-Official- S2000 vs Some other car thread
hey guys, lately i have been thinking about really trying to get rid of the S. I have been back and forth about selling the s2k for a newer civic SI. The reason i am thinking this is i have a 2001 with 98k miles on it. it runs perfectly fine, but i would like something newer like 2009-2010 with 30k miles or so on it you cant beat the si. I looked at a few later model s2ks and there are quite pricey. Has anyone on the forum done this and did you regret it? Is maintenance cheaper? i like the soft top but i have to dd my S and i almost care for it to much. I wash it once a week even before its about to rain 3 hours later.

I plan on getting a new Si in the near future, but giving up the S2000 for it? Nope.
The Si is fun to drive, but it is still FWD, and not nearly as fun as the S2000.

If mileage is your concern you should be able to find a lower mileage S2000 for the same price as an 09-10 Si with 30k miles. I would never make this kind of trade.

i have an 06 civic si coupe
pro
seats four people nicely
has a trunk for groceries
handles relatively well for a fwd car
Cons
just not as sporty as an s2000
engine is not as powerful as the s2000
no top down!
just obvious reasons why you would buy a CIVIC its just plain PRATICAL!
im a honda guy so im biased to civics, accords, pilots. etc....

I've been looking to sell the s2000 for a while but its hard to let go cause its a great car yes i have a buyer but my next car would most likely be a 350z i was also looking into an older c5 corvette or 2003 mustang cobra mostly looking at the 350z i want to know anyone's thoughts on both the s2000 and the 350 not to be biased against the 350 cause this is a s2000 forum i need some real answers i somewhat feel like i would be downgrading but I've never been in a z so i can't say much thoughts are much appreciated

The 350 sucks. And thats not because Im a S2000 fanboy.
When you own one, which I'm sure you probably will, you'll understand why and you can open a "Hey Im back" thread that I'd happily enjoy reading a year or two from now.
All the best.

...and not a single punctuation mark was used that day....
To start:
What year S do you have?
How long have you had it?
What is it not doing for you that you think another car would?

The 350Z was on my list of possible next cars alongside the S2000. I drove a 350Z and was completely underwhelmed. The interior was trash too--there was one painted metal piece on the door panel that scraped right off and showed bare metal just by looking at it the wrong way.
I test drove my '06 S2000 shortly after that and bought it the next day. The driving experience is just so much better in an S2000, not to mention having a convertible is awesome. Vert 350s weigh even more than the regular ones which are already too heavy for a two-seater.
Out of your list, I'd get a C5 if anything. But I'd still rather have an S2000 than a C5.

s2000 is a better driving experience... the rev-up 350z (bulged hoods) are faster. Consumables in the C5, 350z, and Moosewang will be higher as well (gas, brakes, tires, etc).
The Z has more room, and is more comfortable, but isn't as well put together. The C5 isn't even worth mentioning unless it's a Z06. The Moosewang is a sad choice between the S2k, Z, and C5.
Want a better car than the S2000, while retaining it's driving experience... Cayman.
Want 8/10ths the driving feel of the S2000, but need more room, 370z.
Want a better performing car, at the expense of driving feel and fit and finish, C5 z06.
Want a disappointing car throughout, other than going fast in a straight line, moosewang.
