-Official- S2K accident thread
Well, what year is it? Insurance will most likely give you the retail value (nada or kbb) plus tax. I would take off the hardtop. I doubt they will compensate for any of your other aftermarket parts. If the buy back is cheap, you can buy it back and part it out to make extra money, but I don't know how much a motor and transmission with 160K+ can fetch.
crying would be the last thing i do. i start with screaming, yelling, a lot of cursing, fetal position, and then cry. man i hope he had insurance.

I think I would cry.[/quote]
He opened the front door, sat on the couch, and preceded to cry for about 25 mins, it was a turn where the road was banked opposite of the direction of the turn, while it was raining, and he wrapped it around a tree.. he got another one 3 weeks later with the insurance.
Sorry to hear about the S but glad you are ok. I would think the car would retail around $9k which will make it really close on totaled versus fix. I think it is fixable and within the limits the insurance company will pay out before totaling. Good luck to you!
