Looking back at the picture I think the damage looks worse than it originally was, I wedged the car into the tree and on top of another. I'm not sure about the fender and front right wheel/suspension damage, but a lot of the bumper damage was caused by removing the car, the bumper basically tore off as the car was pulled out.

There are a lot of unfortunate accidents in this thread, but the amazing part is that most of them seem very easy to live through. Those that looks bad enough for the occupant to have died look like they probably would have died is any other car. I'm a bit hesitant to drive another in the rain, but I'm really not concerned about the car from a safety aspect, I think it did a tremendous job protecting me.

Did you have the VSA off? Just wondering.

damn, almost looks like it was trying to hide in the forest there. Didn't realize how nice laguna blue looked. good luck fighting with insurance, I know laguna is a rare color but insurance probably doesn't care.
Nope, they don't even care about giving me a decent value for it. The car had some decent mileage but was in absolutely perfect condition.
Lowballing is common practice with some insurance companies. You need to make the case for the actual value of the car, which should be easy. KBB, comparable sales, etc. What is the insurance company offering vs your ideal price? What does your insurance contract say you car is insured to? Replacement value? Market value? If you have concerns, open a new thread in S2k Talk and ask advice, but if you bought the car four months ago, reimbursement should be very close to that amount.

Off, (I know, I know). I got into the bad habit of turning it off in the rain since the car would bog down quite a bit even under light acceleration, I think due to the tires that were on it. I always wrongly assumed that if anything I'd lose it in a corner in the rain and never really considered losing it during acceleration. Lesson learned the hard way and I'm buying nothing but an 06+ and never turning it off.

I'm not going to get what I paid, I knew that from the start. I bought the car based on condition, not mileage since I knew I'd be putting a lot on it (12,000 in 3.5 months). The insurance company agrees that my car is in fantastic condition, the interior is mint and was rated that way, but they are only valuing the condition at +$300. For example they are taking a car with 112k miles and adding a grand (based on mileage) and calling it a day. Unfortunately when you look at that car the seats are basically destroyed, no floormats, scratches all over everything and the steering wheel is scuffed like crazy, hardly a fair comparison. Or they are taking a 40k mile car in about the same condition and subtracting $6k for mileage and $600 options (no clue how since these cars are all standard) etc. I faxed over everything I had on my car including window sticker and buyers order last night and they said they would revalue it, we'll see.

That sounds pretty good, I should have the revaluation tomorrow.

I found out they basically just used the baseline price from Edmunds.com. Apparently for used cars that's far and away the lowest of all book values, $14,800 on Edmunds, $17,500 on NADA and $19,000 on KBB. The KBB price is too high but I want them closer to the NADA value.

When they did mine they were on auto trader and cars.com to see what they were going for. He gave me the list of ones he looked at. I think I got a good deal. Paid way less for the car with 28k miles.

They did the same for me except since they all had less miles they took what seem like random amounts off for this that and the other. I have a feeling that was just a low ball offer and they'll come bak with a decent amount tomorrow. I'm sure most people will take that amount with out even thinking about it.
