why would anyone disengage it every time they drive the car? Are you driving irresponsibly every time you get it?
Because I like do do a few 1,2,3 gear pulls on my way to meetings in the morning. If you consider that reckless then yes i guess i am

My tires chirp second gear which activates the VSA (if it was turned on) to slow down the car.

VSA sucks for straight line shifting.

Really? When I try to shift fast @ high rpms I think a combination of the CDV, weak PP, and heavy flywheel MAKE the clutch slip horribly. I can't get the tires to chirp ever and it acts like I have not fully engaged the clutch even when it is for a good second or two.

I just love throwing this thing into a corner more than anything else though

I like having VSA in my car. Usually when Im hauling ass it never even bothers me but there are rare occasions where during hard cornering it has saved my ass when the car hits a weird bump or transition and the rear end starts to go. I always turn VSA off at the track or at auto X but i like having the saftey net when driving on the street.

Your right the CDV makes chirping hard (thank god it's gone now). I removed mine though and got rid of the heavy ap2 flywheel. It's definitely a lot harder to chirp with the stock setup.

ok cool...glad my car just isn't a POS. I plan on replacing all of that when the S/C comes along. Gotta get over this possible 'outsourcing' at work though

Like I want to have to disengage it every time I start the car.

A lot of the new cars have "VSA" systems that cannot be fully turned off.

Way to go America! Killing the fun for most because of the lack of care or common sense from the few.
WOw your so cool that you don't have VSA. I know america sucks because they want to make their cars safer!

your an idiot. Have fun with your car when its wrapped around a tree

There have been a couple times I've been driving in bad weather in my ap1 and the back end has come around. Not from me driving fast or shifting hard... it's just that tail happy of a car and bad roads/tires. I was fine and now I know I have to go that much slower in rain.

I had VSA in my 06 tsx. I liked it. Only kicked in a couple times considering its a fwd non-sports car but it worked very well.

I think VSA is great. The option to FULLY turn it on and off is awesome. You never know what you might run over or have to swerve to miss when you're daily driving but when you want to track it just turn it off.

To the OP: We've all popped the car out there like that. Some of us get by thankful for VSA...others end up in a ditch. Either way lesson learned.

lol I bought an '02 for a reason. I wanted 9000rpm, I wanted a lighter car, I wanted the suspension that will kill me, I wanted a cable connected throttle body.

Hell, I paid more for my AP1 than what most people are getting used AP2's for.

Why?

Because I've been doing this "driving" thing for a while...and I'm pretty good at it. I want no part of a computer deciding when, where and how much throttle I get. That's what I have my right foot for.

If more people thought of their cars as cars instead of another appliance like their washing machine or refrigerator, car models like the S2K would still be around and being improved.

If you think the addition of VSA, TCS, TPMS, etc are good things. You are part of the problem.

Sounds like the ap1 was for you The ap1 rawness is great and i do like minimal computer help.

If everyone was like you there would probably be no more innovations in the car industry.

I'm sure you've been doing this "driving" thing for awhile like most of us. But for someone to hate on a safety feature used on public roads is plain dumb.

We are not all professional drivers like yourself and mistakes can happen.

The reason the S2k is no longer around is because it's not practical, was moderately expensive for being raw, lacks torque for DD, and not the most comfortable car out there.... that being said i wouldn't trade it for the world.
