Mobil1 burns a bit more then regular dino oil, the protection is a bit better w mobil1 though. Buy an extra quart to add within your 3-month intervals, VTEC motors usually burn about a quart between changes, depending how often it sees VTEC of course.

Read your owner's manual immediately.

You shouldn't even be considering the switch to synthetic until at least 7,500 miles. I waited until 10k.

its to late for that, I switched to penzoil synthetic at 3,750 miles because my dealer did it. I have not had any problems and I have just been over 6,000 miles with no oil consumption. I am not worried.

can you take the filter off by just using your hands?

also can anyone reccomened some good ramps with a extension so you can come up on them even with a low profile car?

depends how strong ur forearms are...if strong, then yes.

I need to slip a filter wrench from the top and loosen it before using my hands.

however, i tighten it with my hands.

First filter change? It will be on very tight from the factory. My recommendation is to stick a screwdriver through it to get it off. Otherwise good luck, I hope your forearms are like Popeye's.

Regarding oil choices...read the oil journals in UTH. Road Rage has taken a lot of time to wriite some very informative commentaries on oil. Unless of course, you have no interest in gaining any knowledge and would just like a opinion on what is best.
