Your absolutely right VTECorona, I changed over to Mobil1 at 10,000 miles and the car uses 1 quart between oil changes. Also, here's tip for ya: After having Honda change your oil, wait 10 minutes after getting your car and check the oil level. You may be down a 1/2 quart. This happened to me 3 times and the dealership said they put in what is was called for, but admitted the specs were wrong. Some dealers may put in the correct amount, but check anyway.

What about Royal Purple? Does anyone use it in their S? It sounds like a great oil from what I have read. Their site has some information on it, of course it's a little biased, but maybe useful to determine what the best oil is for you.

Personally, I don't like ramps. Go buy yourself a good jack and 4 jackstands. If you put the car on ramps, the oil heads for the back of the pan and it won't all drain.

I changed my oil and filter at 500 miles. The best sportscars come from the factory with mobil 1 (Synthetic) as its factory fill. The S2000 is also one of the best sportscars made.
F.Y.I.- I own both the Owners Manual and the Shop Manual. I could not find where Honda states to wait to change(7500 miles) to synthetic oil.

You apparently didn't read too well.

As far as "the best" sportscars coming from the factory with Mobil 1...it's called a CONTRACT.

Am I the only one that thinks there is way too much BS out there (and here) about oil? "Use this, not that...do it at 3000mi, 7500mi...change it on odd days, on a full moon and at 75% RH..." LOL! Too funny.

I use Mobil-1...always have, always will. However, if you use any well-known, commercially available oil, follow your owner's manual maintenance intervals and check your levels periodically...YOU WILL BE OK. Really. ;-)
