Default Oil

I've had my Stook for exactly a week now & put 510 miles on her. I filled her up with fuel & she had used some oil. My question is this, what's the consensus on what oil to add to the "break in" oil? I'm not convinced that synthetics are that much better than conventional. I was thinking of adding Castrol GTX. Any input is appreciated from this exstatic newbie! Thanks!

The topic has been discussed at great lengths. Use the search bar above to read up if you like. In the interim be sure to keep your oil topped off and check it frequently. Oil consumption is pretty common during the first 10,000 miles or so.
Following dealer and manual advice I used 5W-30 mineral based oil (Mobil Clean Engine Oil) and did not perform the first change until 7K mi because of the need to preserve the "break-in" oil. The first oil change looked very dirty of course. I then switched to an every 3K mile interval. At 13K I started using Mobil 1 5W-30 Synthetic. The engine performance actually improved noticeably later in the break in period once the rings were seated and oil consumption ceased.

Enjoy
