the director of spoon recommends trany fluid to be changed at every oil change.

for me, 2K oil changes
2~6K for the diff and trans

 

Holy OCI Batman! What kind of severe duty requires such frequent trans/dIFF fluid changes?

 

Maybe nice to insert heli-coil threads into drain taps, if you are going to be changing fluids that often.

Holy moly are you pulling a boat and tracking on the weekends?

 

I change my oil and trans fluid every 5000 miles or 3 track days, which ever comes first.

Diff is every 15k miles or 5 track days, which ever comes first.

The track days almost always come first in those intervals.

I also change my spark plugs every 20k miles and get a valve adjustment once a year.

 

The OCI( +oil filter,brake & clutch fluid) on all my cars is 5k and trans & diff every spring....approx 10k.

Oil/lube is cheap....hard parts are not.

If you're using good oil, that OCI is way too soon. I could have probably done 10+ track days on my last oil change that was sampled with 5 track days, 2 AutoX's, and 1,6xx miles. I definitely changed it much earlier than it needed to be changed.
