i've always used mobil 1 synthetic on my previous cars, and now i need to do my first oil change on my S. should i continue to use mobil 1? i was thinking about trying out royal purple (rick's have it for good price?), but i don't know much about these so...just wanted everyone's opinion. help! and thanks.

 

Mobil 1 is great AFTER about 7,000- 10,000 miles owners manual states this as well. The idea is to let the engine break in prior to synthetic oil use. Keep an eye on oil useage as well, the 10k thing is a guide not a magic number

 

I will use Redline, either 10w30 or 5w40. Great oil for hard working, high revving engines.. a bit pricey though and might be hard to get in some places.
