Default oil leak

i have a leak from the filter and i've searched and found answers to some of my questions but, i have a few more. this weekend i went on twisties with couple of guys im guessing that's where this happened and i noticed it the day after when i saw a little bit of white smoke coming out around the rear tires and exhaust.

1. there's good amount oil that leaked under the filter and around other parts so is this normal if the filter was loose or the gasket failed?

2.Why is oil under the passenger side of the car because i found some oil spots on ground under right passenger side of my car and it sure was oil.

3. Any other possible problems?

thanks

When you have a substantial oil leak, it can go everywhere, especially under pressure. Take your oil filter off and clean any residual gasket material away from the engine. This is most likely what is causing your leak. Then apply some fresh oil with your finger around the gasket of a new filter and hand tighten it to your engine. Then use an oil wrench to tighten it 1/8 to 1/4 more turn. Then top off your oil and you're good to go.
Brake cleaner does a nice job of cleaning up the mess from your leak, but be careful what you spray it on.
