Default Oil Level

Just picked up my Monte Carlo Blue s2k - my seventh Honda , just traded a Typer R Integra - have been driving it extremely hard and noticed that i have had to put oil in it - is it normal for the car to be burning oil - also have heard about the wind deflector - is it worth getting , does it really work

DOHC VTECs running synthetic engine oil is common to burning a bit of oil if driven hard frequently, not much of a major problem in my opinion. As for the wind deflector, I suggest you get the Rick's version rather than the stock one unless you're never gonna use it like me.

It is not unusual to burn a litlle oil during the first few thousand miles; however, it should eventually stop. I now have about 20,000 miles (32,000 km) on mine and haven't had to add any oil between changes since about 4000 miles (6450 km).

Did you properly break it in by not VTECing in the first 600 miles?

I burned up some oil for the 1st 4k miles, plus oil was getting its 1st usage (clinging to things etc.) After around 6k miles, I haven't have to put any in (@22,000 miles) *shocking after the other cars I own*

Burning oil is normal.

As for the wind deflector, if you don't have the stock one, then getting the Mingster one is better than getting Rick's. Rick's requires the stock hinge mechanism. Mingster's is one piece and doesn't require having the stock hinge mechanism. That's why his windscreen only costs around $90.
