Oil and Oil filter

Default Oil and Oil filter

Heading in for an oil change soon. What do you people recommend I bring with me? Mobil 1?? What grade?? and what filter?? Thanks

If over 10,000 miles...Mobil 1. Use a Honda filter if you're going to the dealer.

The oil weight is specifically specified in the owner's manual. Depending on how many miles you have, going to synthetic may not be a wise choice. If you don't have at least 7500 miles on the car, you should not go to synthetic. This is also covered in the owners manual.

every car is different, so you cannot label a universal mileage where you can switch to synthetic. do not switch until your car is consuming little or no oil any longer.

Some cars always consume oil. Some have had oil consumption all the way until they finally went to synthetic. Some still consumed oil afterwards as well.

under 10-15k miles i use:
-castrol gtx 10w30
-oem honda filter(prefer filtech/usa made)

I'm heading to 7600 miles. Only put one quart of Mobil synthetic in a month ago. Thanks for the relpies. I'll leave it up to the dealer. Just didn't know if I should bring my own. Thanks
