(oils) I know this has been covered but...
I did a search and didn't come up with a good answer. Here is the question.
I plan on moving to synthetic AFTER this oil change (my first).
Recommend a Dino oil that will be good for the next 3,500 miles, before I go to Mobil 1.
Kendal?
Castrol?
Mobil dino?
Pep Boys? (J.K.)
I'll be running the recommended weight. (is it 5W-30 or 10W-30?)

I say wait until you pass 10K miles.
If you think your car is going to get smoother or faster with Mobil One or any other quality synthetic, you're expecting something that's not going to happen.
Until then, stick with Castrol GTX while your engine breaks in.
I switched to Mobil One at 15K and I'm glad I waited. Have I noticed a difference since I've put on 1K miles since the switchover?
Nope. Nothing. Car runs beautifully.
