Mine has undercoating, but it was installed at the dealer.
I recently bought mine S2K used. The original owner was in Arizona and now the car is in Colorado. I'm just curious if the coating is regional, and it's something I'll need.

ya i hate to jump on you here but you can't 'duplicate' ABS manually. you can come close, sure, but the computer is faster and better bottom line. or as fast, consistently, every time... which amounts to the same thing since you are human and therefore imperfect and inconsistent. but hey, it's your car. do what you like.

Is ABS beneficial in most instances? Yes. Is it as necessary as most people seem to think? No. Is it creating a generation of drivers who don't know how to use the brakes? Probably. Would it be better to have an ABS override immediately available by pushing harder on the pedal (GM employed this "pedal-pusher" arrangement on a concept mid-engine Corvette WAY back when)? I think it would be, best of both worlds.
Short of that, my preference is not to have ABS.
now you guys are just wanting to argue. of course i can't pulsate brake pressure 10+ times per second like ABS does.
what i meant is that i can pump the brake pedal and do what ABS is meant to do, keep the wheels rotating.

My car is VERY well waxed. When the snow gets warm, it slides right off or just melts and the water beads up and rolls away. And it always gets a thorough detailing in the spring.
It's no worse for the wear other than being "cold"
