Thumbs down OMG engine noise after installing intake?!?!

HEEELP, does anyone know what this might be or has happened to them? I thought it was a vaccum leak but I already put to clamps on the hose (vacuum hose) and it still does it...

It sounds like and old muscle car idling but also sounds like metal with metal (towards the back of the engine)... and i dont think its that cyclinder #4 thing since it only does it when the fans kick in...?!?!

Suggestions?!

You didn't mention what type of intake you installed, but it sounds like the fan blades are touching it perhaps? I know I didn't have much clearance on my AEM type CAI between the fans and the intake tubing.

Mine are metal (2001). I would imagine yours are also. (I'm talking about the the metal part that the fan motor is mounted to.) Is it possible that the fan mount is bent and is touching the blades?

I would think it would be pretty easy to spin the fan blades by hand (with the ignition off, of course) to see what they are interferring with. If the blades aren't touching anything, make sure that the tubing isn't touching the fan housing anywhere. This is the problem that I had all the time. I had to constantly reposition the down tube to clear the fan housing.
