It was about an 8-9 months period. This is back in early 2000. I test drove the S around Feb-March 2000 and didn't buy it till Nov 2000. The prices were just insane then - markups, generally about 2k above MSRP. This first time I came across a dealer selling for MSRP was about Oct, 2000. Pulled the trigger next month for about 1k below MSRP. How things change, now some buyers pay under invoice prices.

I waited 3 years for my S, because the S I wanted doesn't come up for sale all that often

Had wanted a roadster for the past3 years. Was not even thinking about the S. Had been giving serious thought to a Z. Passed by the local Honda dealership and saw an S. Sat in it and made up my mind there. Never even went for a test drive. Just knew I had to have it. Four months later I had one.

Went it on Tuesday night, test drove the S. Loved the ride. Saw a beautiful Rio Yellow sitting quietly in the lot, calling for me......

Test drove the Z4 the next day. Very disappointed. Decision made.

Spent the next 3 days to do my homework on prices, apply loan, work out my 4 years fianicial forcast (I am planning to back to grad school, so $$ is tight)

Walked in again on Saturday, drove out with MY brand new Rio Yellow home 3 hours later.

Couldn't be more happy about it

Well, when I decided that I wanted one I had just purchased a car... so 5 years later.. I'll likely buy one in march after my review @ work. I could buy one now with about 7k down, but I don't like payments over 400/month so I'll wait.

Had been looking for a new car for a while and was just looking at everything. One day I went out to test drive a bunch of cars but only ended up test driving the s2000 and I left with it that same day.

2-3 months. Lots of research. A single test drive.
