Default One more brake dust question

Hi, all,

Am I correct that the front and rear pads are the same? I am just curious why front wheels get dustier than the rears. I think though that this happens on all cars...is it because the fronts work harder (inertia, engine weight, etc.)? Thanks!

Yes, the front pads work harder than the rear. That is why on many cars the front brakes have bigger rotors and larger calipers (in some cases the front calipers have more pistons than the rear) When you brake, the weight of the car transfers forward which works the front brakes harder. As far as your other question about front and rear pads, I'm not sure if they are the same. I would guess they are not.

edit: just visited H and A's website. Looks like the front and rear pads are different.
