How many of you answering this guy have been to the track? How many have been more than three times? (For the record, I have more than 50 track days on my S2000, so that's where my advice here is coming from.)

Lug nuts to "100 lb"? Foot-lb I guess you mean, and even then, WTF? Only if you like cracking your studs. 80 is just fine, but don't guess at it. Use a torque wrench.
Since we are throwing out how long we have been auto crossing, I have been tracking since I was sixteen years old through N.C.C.C. and S.C.C.A. Im twenty three now so thats 7 years experience. I am a licensed driving instructor through N.C.C.C. so I know a few things, lol. Im not trying to turn this into an argument but when I say tighten lug nuts to 100flbs 99% of tracks I have been to during tech inspection check to make sure they are tight with that setting. I have never broken a stud at 100flbs. Also they make sure your battery is secure. I do agree with the other information you have posted.

For all interested in auto crossing. We have our yearly event in May on Mothers Day Weekend located in Tupelo Mississippi. All those wanting to attend and get some seat time are more than welcome.

I actually tightened mine at 90, unless I get some idiot at discount tire or midas tightens my wheels without a torque wrench and without my spec, then I have to go up to 100 just to make sure.

I think 100 is like a standard. You only breaks a stud if you overtightened it without using the torque wrench. it actually strips the thread out or pull the thing out. I haven't seen too many broken wheel studs at the track though.

All you guys are wrong. You have to tighten the lugs to 96 ft-lb.

Just put some Super Blue or Motul brake fluid in the car so you don't have to worry about it. Dot 4 won't cut it on some tracks... even for a novice.

Mfr recommendation for lugnut torque is 80ft-lbs. 100 just makes no sense. That's like saying you should tighten your seatbelt anchor bolts 25% past manufacturer recommended torque spec. Does that sounds like a good idea to anyone?

stock dot 4 isn't bad. even the stock brakes are ok at the track if you're compression braking. but i wouldn't go more than 20 minutes with the stock anything as far as brakes go at the track.

ATE blue stuff is really good. They worked great. I'm about to change mine to motul 600 this weekend to see if it's any better. I'm still debating getting stainless lines before I flush and bleed and brakes...

I've notice on some of the cars, the Goodridge lines don't fit right on the bracket. I'm hoping this isn't the case for the s2k.

^ hahah damn im retarded, I was thinking about N.C.C.C. rules. ( National Council of Corvette Clubs. ) We just got back from an event last weekend. Tech inspection for our corvette require 100flbs. Your correct about the 80flbs for the S2000. Had attack of the dumb ass for a second there. haha

We'll just have to agree to agree on that one.
