I would borrow a helmet if you don't have time to properly test fit. A good fitting helmet is critical for safety and comfort. 200 is about right for a new lid.

you can break a stud by overtightening period, you can be using your torque wrench, a tire iron or by hand, overtightening break stud, regardless of method.

that's funny, my bolts been torqued at 100 for all last year and this year and nothing's broken so far. That's including track days and auto-x days.
