Does that mean we are more down-to-earth than avg car owners?

I have 8k miles on my stook and no scratch or chip on the windshield so far, even though there have been few incidents where it was hit by small pebble while on highway.

I think I have a $100 deductable on the windshield. I just hate having someone tearing my windshield off when I have hardly gotten to know the car. I tried Zaino's Glass Polisher but it didn't seem to do much.

We need a shield like the Enterprise to deflect the debris. You think Honda can come up with that by the end of the year?

I may try to make it through the summer and just plan on replacing it once a year.

I do believe the laminate is softer than usual. The windshield pits way too easily.

well one thing no one has mentioned is that i am *sure* that most drive this car just a little faster than other cars.

I know I do drive a little faster in this car than in my maxima for example.

Tell me about it. I have about a dozen pits after 9500 miles in one year. To make matters worse, I now have a quarter-size chip dead center in the windshield (happened on Wednesday).

A local glass shop looked at it and said it's too big to repair so I have to get a new windshield. I'm really nervous about leaving my car at the glass shop for 3.5 hours while they replace the windshield (includes drying time for the adhesive). I hope they do a good job. I'm taking it to a PPG ProStar glass shop and they told me that they've recently done 2 S2000s.

Glass shops do a great job. I've had lots of windshields replaced. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I wish fixing all wear and tear was this easy.

Barry,

Thanks for the encouraging words. They told me that instead of cutting the windshield out (as done by Safelite on my Accord), they completely remove the molding and install a new molding (from Honda) with the new windshield. I'm just worried about the black tape around the windshield.

1- i spoke to the honda rep about mine about a year ago.."car sets low"....duh! nothing he could do about it.

2 - $425 installed for a winshield if you mention that you are paying... they generally rip the insurance agencies for an additional $100-$200.

call and ask how much (as if the insurance co is paying).... then call and mention that you are paying...price drop!

Yeah!!

I had 2 little divots filled in already. When I was doing the second one, the winshield repair guy was telling me there were quite a few. Too my surprise, I found out he was right. These are nothing major though but still. =( My insurance company took care of both repairs for free anyways. =)
