This issue has driven me mad since getting my HT. Most of my rattle/squeak now (cold weather) occurs when I'm driving on an uneven surface and most of it appears to come from the soft top itself - as you know, the soft top supports some of the hard top and serves (I think) to dampen some of the potential twist of the hard top, again, especially on uneven road surfaces. I think it's the 'spring' action of the soft top that causes most of the squeak now and I've resigned myself to just accept it... Now I barely notice it - 'course that might just be the cumulative effect of the Comptech exhaust on my auditory acuity...

Schwett,
I also have problem with creaking and squeaking noise when hardtop is installed. Try putting a cloth between two rubber pieces that seat on the soft-top. I still have a noise, but it

I wonder if those with a rear spoiler will hear less wind noise?

I got two screwdrivers, one with a hole in the end to stick the other one threw. Then I had to push very hard on the bottom of the main screwdriver, while I turned on the other one. But make sure to turn very carefully so that you will not round off the soft screw heads. I then scraped all the loktite off of the screws. There will be a short screw and a long one on each side. The long one is the one that had loktite on it. The short one came out pretty well once I got it started.
This is how I was for the whole ordeal-------

I also had a creak, but it came from the clip on the drivers side. I noticed that the passenger side clip was really loose (ie. no tension, and no force required to clip on) so i took it to the dealership today, and he took the top off, and actually slightly relocated the drivers side anchor by tapping a new hole. Drove all over today afterwards and not a single creak was heard. Then again, i will have to wait and see as olny time will tell.....

Try and have your dealer do this if you havent already got it figured it out.

i am tempted to simply take it off, and bring it to the dealer and say, install this for me. how much did you guys pay for installation?

it seems like any adjustements or lubrication cause it to stop squeaking for about 1/2 of a trip somewhere, then it comes back.

I was getting creaks and squeaks. I used several different lubricants and they really did not work well. I then bought the shin etsu grease from honda. Oh my not a single creak or squeak. Apply it on the heavy side. My hardtop is very quite now.
If ya have not tried the shin etsu get some now! Worth every penny.
