I had my hardtop installed by Hardtop guy (Jeff from Ganley Honda, a board sponsor) and to date, I've had absolutely no problems with squeeks or wind noise. The only squeeks in my car are when the seats are all the way back and rub against the rear and roll bars....

The install was $150 by Jeff...

Good luck! Love my hardtop...hope you feel the same about yours soon enough!

Yes i am taliking about the rear where it comes into contact with the car. Apply a heavy coat of shin etsu on the rubber part attached to the hardtop massage in. Wait a little while for the rubber to absorb it. Then apply a second coat. I have no squaeks or creaks after I did this. Nice and quite! Shinetsu is the stuff works great! Much bettter than any silicon type spray!

This grease by far is the best to use. It goes on as a white paste then clears as it is absorbed in the rubber. It will not evaporate or come off in water. When we install a top every seal and mounting point is coated including pins and brackets. We also tell customers that maintenance of these seals and brackets is a must for quiet tops. Honda Code 464229 08798-9013 List $15.58

Just a note about having your dealer adjusting your top. As long as it is a factory part and the car is still under warranty it is free of charge wether your dealer installed it or not. Any dealer can warranty the service not just the dealer you purchased from. You can call customer relations at 800-999-5901 if your having problems with your dealer.

are you certain about this? my dealer is telling me something very different, specifically that if the installation is flawed they will not cover it. to make matters worse, they claim to have spent "several hours" diagnosing the problem (enough to make me late for an appointment after picking up the car when i repeatedly told them that if it was going to go past the due time, to skip the hardtop and i'd take care of it later) , yet wouldn't tell me if it is an installation issue, an adjustment issue, a lubrication issues, etc. when i pressed the service manager to tell me what their star tech found after all these hours of free work on my behalf, he then claimed that he adjusted it and feels that the problem should be much reduced. this nearly made me laugh in the guy's face, because when i drove it away from the dealer after it was there all day, it squeaked and creaked WORSE than ever. this was independently verified by a passenger, so it's NOT in my head.

to make matters worse, when i removed it i was NOT able to get it back on again. the two rear pins are approximately 3/4" out of position... far too much to simply "force" in. unfortunately i took it off at my brother's place in l.a., needed to leave at approximately 4 in the morning to make it to work in s.f., and he didn't have a socket wrench. so, i left the ($)#*$)(#*$)(# top in santa monica.

next time i go down there, i'm bringing the shin etsu and my tools, and hopefully i can resolve it.

one thing is certain : with all the BS SF Honda has given me, i am not taking the car back there.

I'm under the impression that a lot of guys are loosening all FIVE adjustment bolts on each side when they do the install.

THIS IS A BIGMISTAKE!!!

ONLY loosen the TWO bolts at the bottom to adjust the fitment during install. If you loosen all the bolts you'll never get proper fitment.

If you installed your top and loosened all the bolts, I suggest you have a dealer try to make adjustments.

Good luck.

well, i used the instructions. you need to loosen the three bolts on each side in order to move the top up and down and forward and back. the two bolts you speak of move the top left and right.

i really doubt the instructions are TOTALLY mistaken about the method of adjusting the top.... but we'll see when i get a crack at it again.
