hey i just recently purchased a top secret hood ( 6 vents) and i noticed that hot air does escape from the vents. What do you guys think about running open airbox with this hood? I know from previous posts that people say open airbox decreases horsepower significantly, but is this due to heat soak? or lack of intake pressure?

i dunno, anyone's 2 cents will be appreciated.

p.s. open airbox sounds even louder with this hood

you will still lose power. some hot air will still be stagnant in the engine bay, especially if you're waiting at the light etc... an open air box exposes the filter inlet between two heat sources, the engine and the radiator.

 

does anyone have a dyno comparo of open airbox vs closed? i ask because it feels like there's more torque down low with the lid off. i took mine off for my last run of an autox and posted my fastest time of the day...(which was a huge improvement as i'd spent most of the afternoon trying to equal my fastest morning time...)
