Default Top Secret Hood w/ Open Air Box

do you guys think there will be less heat soak with this hood? i just got one and just came up with the idea since i like driving with the airbox off. Just an idea guys lol.

Aside from heatsoak, does this do any harm to the engine? It sound very loud so im not sure if thats any good.

The car actually loses power with the airbox lid off. Do a search.

Having the stock lid of really depends on the weather conditions. If I remember correctly there have been past dynoes that showed 1-2hp gain by having the lid off, and other that showed some loss of hp.

You have to remember that almost all dynoes are done with the hood open making fresh air available for the intake. On the street though your hood is closed and more heat will be in the bay. I think even with the vents of the top secret hood it's still going to be sucking up some hot air.

If your doing it just for the sound then go for it, but a cold air would sound a lot nicer. If your looking for performence gains then a cold air is the better option. I mean even if the lid off did give you 1hp increase, you would never be able to feel it.

Any vented hood will reduce the chance of heat soak, but drive with the airbox lid on (you're not driving a Civic anymore.)
