Cars for sale here are low balled like crazy. Odd, given the fact that they are probably better cared for than Joe Schmoe's S in the local paper, but its a competition thing.
also agree. forum members lowball constantly and expect great deals. just because someone else on the forum sold their 07 model for 22k doens't mean everyone else should too...

Prices have been dropping like mad.

When I was looking, the used market prices were really high. 10k+ miles 05-07's were going for 27. It's what got me a new one instead for a little more. Come December though, it seems the used S2000 prices in general have dropped a lot. Maybe it's just because the 08's are out. I personally think it's a combination of effects from the economy, other cheaper convertibles, and the effects of leftover 07's.

I disagree. The direct reason why the prices of the used market is falling is because the dealers are dropping the prices. Why would I buy a well-mainted USED 07 for 25k when I get a new one 07 from Ohio for 26.5k? You sellers have no grasp of reality and expect top dollar for your babied car. I just turn around and buy a brand-new one from the dealership for about the same price.

s2000 availability/value as of late is the exact reason I waited to find a gpw (aside from personal preference, of course).

In my area, at least, gpw is the rarest and therefore most often sought after. Something I had to at least take into consideration assuming i do sell the s2k down the line.
