Definitely option 1. You'll get more money parting out, but that's a hassle and you need the time/space for that. Selling it in one piece privately will yield you much more money then selling it to a salvage yard.

You've already listed all the options. She just needs to make a decision. If she doesn't have storage she can't part it out. Not that anyone volunteered but you haven't said where storage needs to be. This is the most lucrative way to recoup as much moola as possible.
Other than that the other two options are nearly the same. The sale to the junky or as a parts car will give you the least amonut of money but will be the quickest way to dispose of the vehicle. GL

The best way for this to benefit the S2K community is to sell it to someone that will fix it or that will at least part it out and sell the parts to those in need (since she doesn't have the resources to do either of these herself).

Please oh please do not sell it to a scrap yard. They will end up crushing much useable stuff since its so difficult for them to sell parts for such a low volume vehicle.

Thanks for all the advice so far! I'll be sure to relay this information to the owner.

Personally, I'd like to see the car become a donor to keep other S2000s in good shape. I think there's lots of usable bits on it that shouldn't go to waste.

More opinions and suggestions are welcome!

it really depends on her financial situation and whether she has a form of transportation

and not to be sexist...

she might not be able to handle the hassle of rebuilding the car...

I would say cut her loses and start from scratch, but like I mention b4, it depends on her financial status...

good luck to her!

Please don't scrap it. A buddy of mine sold his wrecked s2000 to a salvage yard with good motor and transmission with heavy front end damage and they gave him 300 bucks for it. Just sell it as is.

That's the equivalent to trading something in at GameStop.

Yea if you trade in a brand new ps4. Last time I checked they'll give you anywhere from 3-5 bucks for ps3 or Xbox games and you won't get more then 60 or 80 bucks for the actual ps3 or 360 it self lol

That's crazy! I salvaged my 2002 Nissan Altima with 250k on it and a blown trans for $500.
