Original vs Replica
can't talk from personal experience, but a guy in the OK forums that comes to a lot of the local Oklahoma meets has owned both shine and ASM bumpers as well as the shine hardtop and swears the shine fits better than the authentic pieces, and he will be the first to bring that subject up. i'm much more inclined to go with an aero part that fits better regardless of brand. although, as many have stated, i'm much less inclined to do the same with performance parts.
Depends on the part, usually I'm against replicas but for things like lips and bumpers that are likely to break I would buy replica. But for that parts actually affect your cars performance for example coilovers I would get the real deal. I'm not a hater so buy what you can afford/ want.

I think there are plenty of affordable options out there for people who don't want to bust out the savings account to get a new bumper, hood, etc.
What about C West? I can't provide a personal testimony regarding the quality of craftsmanship, but their hoods range in price from $980 (CFRP) - $4387 (CHC). I mean, if it's simply a matter of price when it comes to replica vs. original, this alone shoots that train of thought in the foot.
I guess what I'm saying is that there is really no excuse when it comes to continually supporting these copycat companies, and leaving the guys that do all of the work hung out to dry.

@ me being angry. I think some people here either don't have the balls to hear the truth, or don't have the balls to say the truth. Truth hurts. What does my moderator status have anything to do with my opinion? I didn't insult anyone, I insulted the BS companies selling snake oil products. ASM selling a $50,000 body kit is nothing short of laughable, yet many of you still defend them.
I bought a REAL C-WEST front bumper, and returned it within hours. Biggest POS on the planet. Cheap material, horrible fitment, and horrible prep. I helped a friend install a replica kit on his RSX and everything fit flawlessly, and it was 100% urethane that didn't break everytime you sneezed.
Whatever, you all make your own money, and are entitled to spend it any way you like. However, you are ignorant if you call someone out who has replica bodywork, because your JDM bumper was made down the hall from his replica.
