I dont mind replicas (FAKE) but i hate it when people go around telling them their real. This one time at a meet this fool was saying how he loved his TE37s. I go ahead and check them out and they dont seem to match mine :\ so i go ahead and call him out on his BS. lets just say he hangs around with the ricers now.

Depends on the part, usually I'm against replicas but for things like lips and bumpers that are likely to break I would buy replica. But for that parts actually affect your cars performance for example coilovers I would get the real deal. I'm not a hater so buy what you can afford/ want.

and wheels... i definitely wouldn't wanna be called out on having fake wheels.

Like most of the replies here I could care less if I had replica aero pieces because they aren't functional parts of the car like suspension components, driveline components, etc. No reason to pay 300% more for the same exact thing just because it came in a box with a Honda logo on it.

Whenever I buy my trunk-lid spoiler I'm most definitely going the eBay route. I'll get it paint matched at a local shop and nobody will be able to tell the difference.

your money, your car, your parts. Buy quality instead of brand name.
however so not skimp on safety items, your life is priceless while a car, is afterall, is just a car.

Not a good read at all. Stupid read.

First of all, get this notion out of your heads that everyone in the world CAN live like we do in the US. Do not compare our standards to others.

Second, what I see in that photo?

1)People are employed, and have a job that feeds them and their kids.
2)Do you have any idea how many people in China are out of work?

I don't see anyone shoveling Uranium in those photos. Not all countries use OSHA regulations that inflate product pricing 3000%.

A lot of the s2k guys have that mentality, quality comes a high price tag.

It doesnt!

I wholesale/replicate/ and even import parts from china etc. and never have problems with quality. The main facts of the matter, is the actually item itself that you are buying.

Rules of china style replica brandS:

never buy suspension or engine internals
(low quality etc)

As for other items, it all depends on who is making them.

as for china stuff I would use / run :

Turbos
Radiators
Intercoolers
Exhausts
downpipes
headers
intakes
FRP exterior replicas/cf etc
piping
seats

Ive used almost every kind of replica part and even owned all the legit brands from ARC/brembo/cusco/K-w/stance/volks/rays etc.

If you feel like wasting your money and making yourself feel better with items of little importance then go ahead, do what you want.

Your cash, your car.

I would rather save money and not have to lose thousands by the time I sell my car due to the loss in value.

everyone has their own point of view, so arguing over a basic subject is meaningless. Lets just say when I'm at the track, I spend money where it counts - tires/coilovers/differential

I have a replica OEM wing...except for its weight, you probably can't tell the difference. I have to agree with the general theme made in the last few statements:

For critical parts, shell out the money for the top notch names. For aesthetics and noncritical pieces, its fair game and replicas can do the same for less.

if it has anything to do with the driveability/safety of the car and driver (ie: suspension, brakes, wheels, engine/drivetrain parts, seats, harnesses, roll bars) then i will go with authentic or oem...but if its something that is being put on only for looks (ie: bodykit, spoilers, lips, wings, hardtops) the only thing that is going to fit perfectly is oem, so why not go with a fake/replica...now if youre going for functionality for track use then by all means go with authentic but if its just for street/daily i dont see why getting a knock off is a bad thing...not everyone can pour thousands of dollars into a body kit that is authentic...like i said a few lines ago...if its just for looks and doesnt concern the safety/driveability of the car and drive then its your choice for either authentic or fake...its your car who cares...automotive parts arent the only products being replicated in our economy...it is everywhere...medicine, food, clothing, electronics, household items, etc...what it all boils down to is user preference...bottom line

oh and do you think that any insurance company is gonna cut you a check for that $1500.00 and up bumper that someone banged into in the parking lot or intersection...or would you rather feel more comfortable thinking man im glad that wasnt authentic
