Our first long trip in the S2000.
Hello:
I have been reading this list since I bought my S in Januray, 2003, and I thought I would relate my recent driving trip in Colorado. We are planning a long trip to California next summer and we wanted to see what it's like to spend several days driving the S2000 prior to actually going to CA.
It was a great success. We covered 967 miles in 20 hours of driving last weekend. All but 180 miles of that was on 2-lane mountain roads which were very curvy. We did not get tired or experience the sore butt syndrome that you sometimes get after sitting in a car for several hours.
The car handled beautifully and we did not have any problems. As pointed out elsewhere on this list, the car does lose performance at high altitude (above 9 or 10,000 ft) but i imagine the same is true of any car engine.
Here's a quick web page with some picture links.

We have decided to proceed with our tour of California next year. We'll head over on the southern route (New Mexico, Arizona, Las Vegas then) north in the interior of California and see the sites. We may get as far north as Seattle before heading south along the coast to San Diego.
Does anyone have any suggestions for doing a 3 week driving tour in the S (besides packing light)?
